We were in the main house, which was lovely and big for just the two of us. We weren't sure if we would use the jacuzzi/ hot tub, as it was the summer and very hot, but we ended up using it every day. The sun didn't reach the south-facing deck during our stay (maybe at other times of the year, it gets the sun), which didn't bother us as the shade was welcome, but may not suit sun worshippers. Also, the lack of aircon wasn't as issue as most of the time there was a welcome breeze (being at the top of a hill) and you can open plenty of windows. We loved our stay and would happily return.

Carla, who was friendly to begin with, was muddled and complicated. I received - without asking - many (too many) messages, in particular about how to get to the AirBnb. Furthermore Carla woke me up at 7:30 am to ask if I was going to stay another night. Inappropriate and disturbing. I decided not to extend my stay as the jacuzzi was not heated enough (33 C in the evening with wind and rain - 27 C in the morning). The sofa is old and uncomfortable. The decoration is dated.I also found it inappropriate to have to pay the cleaning costs again if I stayed longer. It took a long time for Carla to make a commercial gesture that seemed to go without saying. In short, an 'overrated' place

I had no idea I was such jacuzzi sort of person before this. The interior is colourfully and tastefully decorated. I loved the bean bags upstairs. Kitchen and the two bathrooms are perfect with everything you need. It came ready supplied with lovely coffee beans, a big plus for me. It's in a quiet residential area up a hill a short drive from the town and the islands. It's probably walkable to town but very uphill on the way back. I understand that Knysna now has Uber, but I didn't get around to trying it. Carla was super-easy to communicate with. I admit to being rather sad to leave, not helped by arriving in a rather bleak and dreary London.

Just keep in mind that you will have neighbours in the other units as part of the same house and same drive way. The units are completely private though so no issues in that regard!
